Meet our expert vein specialist
Dr. Rana is Board Certified vein specialist. He has dedicated his medical practice entirely to the diagnosis and treatment of vein diseases, including varicose veins, chronic venous insufficiency, and deep vein thrombosis.
Our vein specialist holds a Master’s Degree in Health Sciences from Wake Forest University and completed fellowship training in minimally invasive vein treatments from the Department of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery at NYU Medical Center in New York. He has also completed a fellowship in vascular medicine at Wake Forest University Medical Center in North Carolina.
Dr. Rana offers the Washington DC Metro Area a unique perspective. He is the only doctor in the area board certified by both the American Board of Venous and Lymphatic Medicine and the American Board of Vascular Medicine. The experience and training that led to these certifications provides the basis for a comprehensive approach to venous diseases.
Over the course of his career Dr. Rana has completed over two thousand varicose vein procedures. He has also published in leading peer reviewed medical journals and has authored or co-authored several book chapters. He is a recipient of the prestigious NIH K-12 grant for his leadership in vascular medicine, as well as numerous awards in recognition of his contributions in advancing vascular disease research.
